Wired Magazine has declared Apple CEO Steve Jobs 'Renegade of the Year'.

One of the categories in Wired's annual Rave Awards, Renegade of the Year is the "person who had the most significant cultural impact in the Wired world in 2003". Jobs was selected as the winner by Wired editors using feedback from Wired readers.

The Rave awards honour: "Twenty mavericks, dreamers and innovators inventing the future", Wired said. Jobs was credited with "setting the agenda in digital entertainment with Apple's iTunes Music Store and Pixar's Finding Nemo."

Jobs shared his nomination in the category with SpaceShipOne designer Burt Rutan, Open Source Development Labs' Linus Torvalds, and Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis of Skype.

Other Rave award winners include Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson and David Byrne.
