Oracle announced extensive future Mac OS X support in its family of eponymous 10g enterprise applications at WWDC 2004.
The company released a trial version of its Oracle Database 10g software last week for Mac developers. At WWDC the company has announced more news to OS X developers.
The announcements "demonstrate Oracle's ongoing commitment to bring its open J2EE productivity framework and visual Java and Web Services development environment to the popular Mac OS X platform," the company said.
"With the availability of Oracle Database 10g for Mac OS X, both companies will be able to provide customers a cost-effective, scalable and reliable database solution based on the flexibility of Oracle Database 10g running on
Mac OS X Server and the power of the new Xserve G5."
Oracle Database 10g Early Adopters Release 2 for OS X is available now for free download and evaluation to all registered Oracle Technology (OTN) members.
Oracle plans to have the production version of Oracle Database 10g for OS X available for free download and evaluation during the second half of 2004.
