According to Apple senior vice president Ron Johnson, Apple has been selling an iPod every 10 minutes in the run-up to Christmas.
Johnson also told the Chicago Sun Times that the Apple Store in that city "is the highest-trafficked Apple store worldwide", with an average of 30,000 visitors a week.
And the Apple Store isn't only popular with customers, because there's a waiting list to work for Apple: "We have 17,000 applicants for 1,000 retail positions," said Johnson.
"It's harder to get a job at an Apple store than it is to get admitted to Stanford University", he added.
The Sun Times praises the store – suggesting that it offers "a marvelous customer experience. The service is exceptional. The staff are courteous and well-trained".
