Apple has published a fresh case study looking at how Xserves were used as a video-render farm in the creation of a music video.
A production company called Addiction used Xserves to "power a ground-breaking graphics technique" to create MJ Cole's Wonderin' Why video.
Addiction used seven networked Xserves to render video and image files, according to Apple.
The render farm took two days to install. Administration of the Xserve-based render farm was conducted using Apple Remote Desktop.
"We've always used the Mac at Addiction, on the grounds that it’s just the best creative tool," said Andy Guest, head of graphics at the firm.
