Apple seems set to abandon its previous iPod user interface with one that's powered by Mac OS X, reports claim.
According to AppleInsider, the company plans to equip new iterations of its iPod and iPod nano with a version of its computer operating system, a move matched by the inclusion of OS X in the Apple TV and iPhone.
The report - which predicts new iPods will debut next month - also claims the video iPod will grow a large screen (similar to iPhone) and that the iPod nano will be revamped to look like a minituarised version of the existing iPod video.
"The move will culminate a multi-year effort on the part of the Cupertino-based electronics giant to form a new platform of digital devices around the common core of its legendary operating system software and expertise in industrial design," the report explains.
Makes sense to me.
