Pulitzer prize winner and self-published author to discuss his award winning book ‘Ian Fisher: American Soldier’ on 2nd September.
London —25th August, 2010—Blurb, the creative publishing and marketing platform, has announced it will be hosting an exclusive event with Pulitzer prize-winning author Craig F. Walker at this year’s Visa pour l’Image in Perpignan. The event offers people attending this premier international festival of photojournalism the opportunity to meet the author to discuss his award winning book ‘Ian Fisher: American Soldier’, which was self-published on the Blurb creative platform.
Craig F. Walker is an award winning photo-journalist for the Denver Post. His work ‘Ian Fisher: American Soldier’ chronicles the journey of a young man from his time as a high school student to a soldier fighting in Iraq and back home. The series covers a two and- a-half-year relationship between Walker and Fisher. The book covers Fisher’s high school graduation rehearsal and over the ensuing months through enlistment and basic training. Walker traveled to Iraq to be with him as he served in Diwaniyah, a volatile area in south-central Iraq, and he was there when Fisher returned home.
This exclusive book signing event, hosted by Blurb, will take place on Thursday 2nd September and the first 50 people to attend the event will receive a free signed copy of ‘Ian Fisher: American Soldier’. The event will also offer festival attendees the chance find out more about self publishing and how to use the Blurb platform to create and distribute their own work.
