To use the Dialog+ you have to plug a little transmitter ‘dongle’ into a USB port on your Mac – this allows the Dialog+ to communicate wirelessly with the Skype software running on your Mac. You can also use it to make voice calls with Apple’s iChat.
It’s pretty straightforward to use – you can either dial numbers on the Dialog+’s own keypad, or use the handset to scroll through your Skype contacts list. The LCD on the handset can also display phone numbers that are stored in Skype – although it would be better if they showed you the person’s name as well as just their phone number.
Still, the Dialog+ is easy to use, and is a good option if you don’t want to pay for one of the more expensive WiFi phones.
