EasyPen M406W review
The EasyPen M406W is a small (active area 15.24 x 10.16cm), reasonably priced wireless graphics tablet.
The wireless option allows for some added creative freedom and means one less cable cluttering your workspace. Genius claims users can work up to 10m away from their monitor, although this clearly depends on the size of your screen.
Driver software installation requires a Mac restart, but otherwise setting up the M406W was straightforward, once we located the tiny USB dongle in the battery compartment. The AAA rechargeable batteries that power the base can be charged with the included USB cable. The pen is, thankfully, battery-free. With 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity, the pen feels responsive and comfortable, although some padding on the barrel would be a bonus.
The wireless M406W can be used 10m from your monitor
Four Express Keys run down the left-hand side of the tablet to aid efficiency, as you won’t need to return to your keyboard for simple tasks. The settings can be fine-tuned, along with pen and wireless controls, in System Preferences. A little adjustment goes some way in making the M406W graphics tablet a viable choice.
