Genius HP-02 review
The phrase ‘you get what you pay for’ is a subtext to nearly all headphone reviews - and the fact that the Genius HP-02 can be picked up for under £7 from misco.co.uk will tell you nearly everything you need to know about them. But not all though - because for £7 you can pick up some real dross.
The HP-02 phones at least sound passable, and offer decent noise isolation. The cable feels tackier than more expensive models, but the earpieces themselves are light and sturdy - they’d survive the twisting and bundling most headphones go through in their lifetime.
The sound is slightly muddy, with loud, dull bass. It’s not going to bring your sounds to new heights, but it’ll suit you fine if you get through a lot of headphones and are tired of shelling out £50 every time you break a pair.
If you're someone who breaks headphones all the time, a cheap pair might be an idea. They'll last, but don't expect more than bare-bones sound.
