iPod users can dump those white wires, thanks to iCombi’s new-to-the-UK Bluetooth iPod headphones.
These comfy, over-the-ear pans offer a good, warm sound. Bluetooth technology supports a direct range of up to 10m, so you can leave the music player on your desk and navigate any large office while the music plays. I experienced perfect sound to the 10m limit, except when moving to a different floor, which sometimes broke the connection.
iCombi includes the lightweight (80g) headphones and a small bluetooth dongle, which connects to the iPod’s Dock Connector. This transmits audio to the headphones, which are USB-rechargeable and run for 10 or 11 hours between charges. Each earpiece has a button. One controls power. The other, which flashes blue in use, controls the iPod. You get on-ear Play, Pause, Fast Forward, Reverse and Volume controls.
