AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! (Force = Mass x Acceleration) for iPad and iPhone review
An awful lot easier to describe than it is to spell, Aaaaa[etc] is a surreal-humoured game about diving from the top of impossibly large buildings. The challenge is to a) not die horribly and b) plunge with as much style as possible. It’s been available on Mac and PC for a while, but its move to iOS introduces some smart tilt-based controls.
Rotate your phone or tablet to line up your death-defying plummet: the screen is your direct view on what you’re aiming towards, so split-second spins can grab a bonus-points target on route, have you grinding down the sides of skyscrapers or, if you get wrong, smashing to (mercifully unseen) bloody red bits on a rooftop.
Insane, illogical gags only add to the sense of giddy merriment, and there’s an awful lot of scope to forever chase higher scores for those who enjoy a bit of digital chest-thumping.
An elegant, if crazed, meeting of game concept and control system. Aaaaa[etc] might make about as much sense as a fish in a hot air balloon, but its colour explosion and overall vim and vigour make it impossible not to love.
