Incipio 1337 iPod touch case review

Apple currently estimates some 150,000 plus applications are available on the iTunes Store, many of which are aimed at both dedicated and casual gamers. Noting the trend, Incipio offers the 1337 iPod touch case aimed squarely at those who love to play games. Ergonomically designed from high density silicone, the 1337 moulded case offers extra grip and support for those playing in landscape mode.

The design includes raised grips that promise additional comfort and do a fair job of making a bout of extended gaming easy on the fingers, wrists and arms. The same design also increases the iPod's bulk somewhat and will have little appeal to non-gamers. That said, the silicone case feels durable and protective and appears to be able to withstand the odd knock or two.

iPod controls proved easy to access, despite the thickness of the case and we had no problems charging the device. The rubbery feel of the 1337 is pleasant to touch and flexible to remove regularly. Incipio also make the 1337 gaming case for the iPhone 3G/3GS and both come with surface protectors and cleaning cloth in a choice of funky colours.

OUR VERDICT

The Incipio 1337 case makes the iPod touch gaming experience closer to a console controller and feels all the better for it. Offering a comfortable and sturdy grip, the 1337 also adds an impressive level of protection for over excitable gamers ready to race and rumble.
