Incipio feather case for iPad full review
The feather range of cases for iPhone and iPod touch from manufacturer Incipio are touted as the company's best selling Apple accessories. As the name suggests, they add little in the way of weight or bulk, while offering a decent level of protection. The feather is now available for the rather more weighty iPad, yet maintains the design principles that made the case such a winner with iPhone and iPod users.
Available in five seductive colours, magenta, charcoal, black, purple and frost, the feather for iPad is simply a shell that clips into place covering the back and sides of Apple's tablet. Less than 1mm thin, the case proves a safe and secure fit, unlike some shell cases we have tried. Made from what Incipio calls an ultra light, ultra strong polymer, the feather has a tactile matte finish that's much less a magnet for marks and scratches than the bare iPad back is. With smooth edges, raised rim and custom cut outs, all iPad controls remain freely available.
The feather clips quickly in place for a snug fit and can be removed with some care and attention. The same can't be said for the included iPad screen protector, which proved a little more fiddly to apply. Screen protectors aren't ideal, they tend to spoil the view and distract from the iPads wonderful screen quality, but full marks to Incipio for including one. Also in the package is a Microfiber cleaning cloth that's a good size and useful as long as you remember where you last left it. At a penny under £30, the feather isn't cheap compared to more solid protection, but if you want something that's extremely light yet durable, Incipio's latest iPad case is hard to beat.
