Sony S-Frame DPF-D80 review
Fans of traditional photo frames will love the design of the Sony – its gloss-black, squared-off design ensures it will be at home anywhere. Spec-wise there’s little to crow about with an 8in 800 x 600 LED display and just 256MB of built-in storage, but great care has gone into making the most of the frame’s limited resources.
A built-in orientation sensor makes light work of switching between portrait and landscape models, while an image resizer takes care of bulky files.
The most frequently used controls are located around the photo frame’s edge for easy access, and they are also featured on the supplied remote control. The text-based menu system also offers a good range of options, even if it looks rather basic.
Luckily, this Sony S-Frame also delivers quality where it counts: with your pictures. Image quality is very good indeed, even if bright reds can look a little unsaturated.
