Camera Plus Pro: Photo+video review
From tasks as simple as taking a photo and saving it to your camera roll to taking a series of shots in burst mode, changing the brightness and saturation, and uploading the image to Flickr, Camera Plus Pro does it all. We only wish it did it better.
Camera Plus Pro presents you with a screen similar to the default camera app, with a big button in the centre of the toolbar for capturing images. Tap the button, and Camera Plus Pro captures the image, geotagging it in the process. Tapping the icon on the left of the screen brings up a list of choices, including a horizontal slider that lets you zoom in on the image, however this is only digital zoom so expect lower quality picture.
The Burst Mode lets you take a configurable number of shots at one-second intervals. A Timed Capture feature adds a user-specified interval between tapping a button and the moment the shot is taken.
A gridlines feature divides the screen into a 3 x 3 grid for composition. The Big Button feature turns the entire screen into a shutter release button. (Note that the 3x3 grid and Big Button disable the manual focusing feature of the iPhone 3GS.)
Camera Plus Pro also offers video capture with live digital zoom, albeit low-res and in need of improvement, as acknowledged by the makers. An enticing package nonetheless.
