OldBooth Premium for iPhone full review
OldBooth Premium has the potential to create long-lost photos of you, your family and friends in minutes via your iPhone snaps or iPod touch library. The process is simple. Select one of over 60 masks, divided into male and female choices, and then a suitable photo. The photo is dropped into the template and manually adjusted, rotated, resized and flipped until the results start to look realistic. A basic slider allows you to match up the tone of the image and template, although it helps that all the results are monochrome.
Head and shoulder portraits, without hair across the face, shot in daylight with a decent camera produce the best results. You may have to dig around in your iPhoto collection for something suitable, but the effort is worth it. OldBooth images can be saved, added to iPhoto and shared via email, which is where the fun really begins.
We've managed to make many people laugh at the aged photos we have produced, and even fooled a few into thinking they are real. The masks cover various time periods but the popular vote appears to be for the 70s and 80s when big hair and even bigger lapels ruled.
Along with OldBooth Premium, a free Lite version is also offered as a taster, which promises a limited selection of photo templates to edit. For Premium users, OldBooth Photo Pack 1 is also available as a 59p "in app" purchase, to add to the fun.
