Qik Video Connect Plus for iOS full review
Qik Video Connect Plus (aka Qik Video Pro) is a simple video recording app that’s designed to make it easy to share movies made on your iPhone.
Shooting video couldn’t be simpler. On opening the app you’re immediately taken to a video recording screen, complete with a slim menu bar with a record button and simple zoom and brightness options. Just above that are a range of video shooting effects. Tapping on some of the effects changes the look of the main screen too, but we’d have liked to see this applied uniformly – sometimes what you see is not what you get. The only other option available to you is Live Video mode, but more on that in a minute.
The really clever bit comes next. Tap the settings button at the top right of the screen and you’ll be able to share your videos using services like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, via Qik’s own video-sharing website. All you have to do is enter your details for each service. When you’ve finished making your movie, send it to the appropriate one – doing so compresses your video into a lower-resolution version for quick uploading via 3G and WiFi.
You can make video calls over 3G using Live Video mode, unlike with FaceTime
