Sena WalletSlim for iPhone 5 full review
The WalletSlim for iPhone 5 is an open-faced case that doubles up as a wallet – and, made from hand-crafted, top-quality, full-grain Italian leather, it’s a rather fine wallet, too.
I used a WalletSlim for quite some time with my old iPhone 4S, and enjoyed the immediacy that the open design offers, compared to cases with closeable screen protection.
If you use your phone as your principal camera you don’t want to be unclipping or flipping back covers when you spot a great photo opportunity.
The WalletSlim offers sturdy protection for the back and sides of the iPhone 5, and will protect the screen from scratches with its sides pushing the screen back a little from slight contact damage.
All the button and port cutouts give ample space for operation and the camera and flash cutout shouldn’t interfere with your snapping.
Cutouts include: Proximity sensor opening; Charge/sync port opening; Camera lens/flash opening; Sleep/Wake; and Ring/Silent.
The Volume Up and Down controls are covered but operate through the leather side. The iPhone 5’s bottom speaker is slightly obscured by the case but doesn’t affect audio quality to any real extent.
The phone is kept snug in the case with a firm snap closure.
The wallet features allow you to keep a few business cards or maybe a travelcard and credit card with the phone.
The WalletSlim is available in a selection of colours in classic (black, red, brown, and orange) and croco (black and red) leather.
Orders are via Sena's US-based site. The WalletSlim costs $44.95 with $9.99 international shipping, which works out (at the time of writing) to be about £36.
