Flood works by drawing an adjustable plane across an image. The area below that plane will be filled with a body of water that realistically reflects whatever is above the plane.
This simple-to-use plug-in also offers control over the water’s appearance, so that waves, ripples, perspective, water colour, and clarity of reflection can all be changed using sliders. Adjustments are shown in a real-time preview window, meaning the process is not only effective but speedy, too.
For truly realistic results, the flood plain has to be aligned with a real horizon in an image, making it ideally suited to use with landscapes. Results are better if objects are in the distance, rather than hogging the foreground.
The prettiest results come from scenes with a wide range of brightnesses in the sky, as well as large regions of detail such as clouds, trees, and buildings.
