WD Passport Pocket Review
Offering the best value for money at £6.66 per GB, the 6GB WD Passport Pocket is the biggest drive on test in terms of capacity and dimensions. Slightly bigger than a box of matches, this is a bulky solution, and given that the 4GB solutions on test are so much smaller it’s probably fair to guess that a smaller form factor might be in the pipeline.
It wasn’t just the capacity that was notable – data transfer was an impressive 4:44 minutes for 1GB, compared to Buffalo’s 4:22.
The Passport Pocket features a nifty solution to the lid problem, the USB plug flips out of the casing on an arm that can be twisted around to the perfect position – meaning that there is no issue fitting it into your laptops USB port. This is a good thing, given that it requires a powered port. Like some other USB sticks it offers PC-only encryption tools as well as syncing software.
