Pulpmotion Advanced Review
Presentation programs are often mundane, chart-based office tools. Slideshow programs are the 21st century equivalent of passing around your holiday snaps. Aquafadas has created an application that occupies the middle ground between these two poles, adding much needed sparkle to both.
Like its standard predecessor, Pulpmotion Advanced enables users to assemble slideshow presentations of images, video clips, audio and text using ready made templates. This time around, you have much more control over the finished result, with timeline tools and editable properties for every aspect of your presentation. It’s more like a movie maker than a humble presentation tool.
Integrating with your favourite Mac apps, Pulpmotion Advanced boasts an enhanced media manager, similar to Adobe’s CS3 browser. This provides access to the contents of your iTunes and iPhoto libraries or any media folders on your Mac. Click on the final section of the media manager, and you can add live video or audio using the program’s built-in recording tools. It’s ideal for adding commentary to a slideshow you’ve already created.
As for presentations, you don’t have to worry about much because the bundled themes take care of everything, creating animated transitions between the media you place on the timeline. They’re slick and professional, producing presentations that look like they’ve been laboured over for hours. There are also more precise timing controls that give you control over video, sound and even still images.
Pulpmotion Advanced turns a toy into a useful tool, handing powerful presentation-building capabilities to anyone with a folder full of media.
