Fritz!Box Fon WLAN 7270 review
The Fritz!Box Fon WLAN 7270 is a lot more than just a simple router. As well as having a built-in ADSL modem and a USB port that allows you to connect devices such as a printer or hard drive, the Fritz includes a pair of telephone sockets that allow you to connect telephone handsets for use with either a conventional telephone land line or internet telephone service. It can also act as a base station for up to six DECT cordless handsets.
That range of features makes it a good choice for business users who are looking for an all-in-one internet and telephone communications system, but probably a bit too complicated for ordinary home users. The configuration software on the CD-ROM only works with PCs.
We had to root around on the disk to find PDF files containing information for Mac users, and also on how to set up the additional telephony features via the router’s web browser interface.
