SENA Florence Leather Case for iPad mini full review
Leather cases for the iPad and iPad mini are the go-to accessory for many business executives. The SENA Florence iPad mini case that we're reviewing here is very well crafted piece of leather.
In terms of design it's the typical side-loading pouch that contains the iPad mini with a leather flap. Four colours are available and we're reviewing the brown one. The outer case is in hard leather, while the inside is velvet lined.
We're not experts on leather craftsmanship but the SENA Florence Leather case does strike us as particularly well made. The fit and finish is nice and it's certainly stylish. According to the promotional blurb on its website "Sena has searched worldwide for the finest quality full grain genuine leathers available. Sena cases are handcrafted by leather artisans and our leather is selected from the ultimate premium sources of Napa calfskin leather."
One neat touch is that it has a magnetic clasp and on/off functionality from the Apple Smart Cover. While there are a few other third-party cases that offer this functionality, it's still quite a rarity and definitely a plus point.
The front cover can be folded to form a triangular stand that slots into a flap on the rear of the device. We found it held up the iPad mini, and was fine for angular typing although it lacks the precision of the Apple Smart Cover.
One downside is that the fit isn't perfect and we found the Home/Wake button to be slightly covered. Also and the volume controls and lock switch were both difficult to access.
But on the whole the SENA Florence Leather case is certainly one of the nicest smart cases we've seen for the iPad mini. It's available online for $79.99 plus $9.99 P&P (approximately £59, which is a good deal for what's on offer).
If you're looking for a smart executive case for the iPad mini then this is a great choice.
