SoundSticks II review
The original SoundSticks were produced almost a decade ago now, and were specifically designed to match the translucent plastic used in the very first iMac. Nonetheless, the updated SoundSticks II remain one of the top sellers on the Apple Store – and it’s not hard to understand why when you hear the sound that this system produces.
The beefy subwoofer produces 20W of sound on its own, along with an additional 10W each from the two stereo satellites. That makes it the most powerful speaker system in this group – almost painfully loud, in fact, when we were testing it.
The quality of the sound is just as impressive – clear and crisp, and with enough weight on the higher frequencies to stand up to the power of the subwoofer.
Our only complaint is that the volume controls are a little over-sensitive and the volume sometimes keeps increasing or decreasing even after you’ve taken your finger off the button.
